What’s your career?
Site Operations Lead / Import & Export Regulations Coordinator / Community Service Liaison for IBM Tucson
What are some things you do outside the gym that people might not know?
With the number of different shoes I wear to the gym some people may not have guessed it – but I’m a bit of a sneaker head and love collecting shoes.
I may buy the occasional collectible toy as well.
Do you remember what your first workout was and what you thought?
It was something with pull ups. It was brutal, but I enjoyed it. Now I get all crotchety if I don’t get my weekly WODs in.
What’s your favorite workout?
Pretty much anything with deadlifts and rowing. And curls…gotta get that bicep pump!
What’s your least favorite workout?
Nothing like a full snatch (squat snatch) to make me cower in fright.
Favorite Movie:
So many to choose…my top 10 list changes monthly. I’ll go with Big Trouble in Little China / Goodfellas / Major League as my favs for this month.
Favorite Book:
To Kill a Mockingbird
Favorite cheat Food:
Pizza ftw!
How did you find Iron Grip?
My sister from another mister Sara Coronado joined earlier this year, and once that happened the writing was on the wall for me to join.
She would talk about how awesome it was and told me to try out a free class. I gave it a go, and pretty much agreed – everything about this place was awesome. Then, it just so happened that
my old gym decided to get rid of their CrossFit program, and things wound up naturally falling into place. I joined earlier this year, and I’m so happy I did. Love it here!
If you had one famous person to do a workout with, who would it be and why?
Jerry Rice. He’s my favorite football player of all time and was known for having a ridiculous training regiment all through his 20 year Hall of Fame career. His “Hill” cardio workouts are legendary, and even in his late 50’s, the guy’s in incredible shape and still trains on that hill. I’d love to see if I could keep up with him!
