When picking your own weight, choose wisely. The idea is to challenge yourself with a heavy weight…but to remain unbroken. It doesn’t matter if it’s heavier than someone else’s or lighter, today is about what is best and most challenging for YOU, regardless of anyone else’s weights or performance. In a sense, today is a personalized workout that you get to decide the outcome with. Each set of hang cleans should be unbroken, but not done in 0.65 seconds. We want to challenge the breath, the technique, the execution, everything, so decide well what that weight’s going to look like. Even though the score is the slowest round, we want each round to increase weight, with the hope that the time stays consistent.
