Remember Always

Iron Grip CrossFit – CrossFit

Here’s a pop quiz for you. Don’t cheat and use Google. Not yet anyway. What is the historical significance, in America, of December 7? If you’re not sure yet, here’s another clue: December 7, 1941. If you’re still not sure why that date is important in our history, then it should be no surprise to any of us when someday, a few years from now, one of our children or grandchildren has to use Google to learn the significance of September 11, 2001.
Today we do a workout in remembrance of 9/11. The world changed that day. But freshmen entering high school this year weren’t even born yet. They are the first who will learn about 9/11 as an historical event that took place before they even existed. They never saw the change in the world after that day. They’ve never known anything different.
So here’s to remembering, this day and every day, what price has been paid because of our freedom. And here’s to remembering that such a price is worth paying, so long as we continue to learn from the past, look to the future and really live in the present.
