The reason DT is challenging is not necessarily because of the rep scheme or the movements, it is simply because there is one barbell, and you never leave it. Which means mental approach is the most important factor today. We’re using the 2-rep hang power clean to build confidence. Picking the barbell weight should be based off of your personal weakness. If you’re terrible at cleans, pick a weight where you can comfortably do 9 reps unbroken with; same with the push jerks. Breakup strategy is everything, so be smart. It’s five rounds of one barbell. It’s not a bad thing. It’s a good thing. 5 rounds to show that barbell who’s boss. Today is about confidence and staying strong, knowing you can do it. So get after it.
